Central Bank of Malta and Malta Association of Minority Shareholders & Retail Investors Host Educational Session on SEPA Payments and SWIFT

The Central Bank of Malta, in collaboration with the Malta Association of Minority Shareholders & Retail Investors, successfully hosted an educational session focused on SEPA payments and SWIFT global financial messaging systems.

The event was designed to provide valuable insights for investors, financial professionals, and the general public interested in modern payment infrastructures.

During the session, participants explored the evolution of SEPA payments across Europe and gained an overview of SWIFT's role in facilitating secure international financial communication.

Presentations were delivered by Kirsten Ellul, Manager within the Payments Policy and Compliance Office, and Edward Magro, Deputy Head within the Payments and Banking Department. Both speakers shared expert perspectives on the development, integration, and future of payment systems.
