Payments Statistics

Payments statistics measure how money moves through an economy. They track transaction volumes and values for both cash and non-cash methods, such as credit cards, direct debits, and credit transfers.

This section includes a range of the most important aggregated payments statistics collected and published by the Central Bank of Malta and follow primarily the norms of the ECB's payments statistics regulation and guidelines.
