According to the Bank’s latest forecasts, the outlook for economic growth is expected to remain robust with GDP growth projected at 3.8% in 2026, 3.6% in 2027 and 3.8% in 2028. Growth is expected to be led by private consumption which is projected to continue to grow at a brisk pace. Compared to the Bank’s previous projections, the outlook for GDP growth has been revised up by 0.1 p.p. in 2026.

The Central Bank of Malta warns the public of the increased existence online of deepfake videos that artificially replicate the image and voice of various Central Bank Governors, including the Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Mr Alexander Demarco. These are fake and are intended to deceive the public.
