Frank Bezzina, PhD, was appointed Member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Malta for a period of five years with effect from 1 January 2018. He is currently Pro-Rector for International Development and Quality Assurance at the University of Malta after having served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA) for five years.
Prof. Bezzina teaches Applied Business Statistics, Decision and Risk Analysis, Management Science, and Research Methodology. His research interests are varied but mainly focus on investigating phenomena in the Organisational Sciences. He has published several papers in international peer-reviewed journals on risk management, corporate governance, transformational leadership, evidence-based management and statistical/methodological misconceptions. In 2012, one of his research papers was awarded the Emerald Literati Network Highly Commended Paper Award for Excellence. Recently, he also co-edited two volumes (Vol. 97 and Vol. 98) in the Emerald's Contemporary Studies in Economic and Financial Analysis book series.
Prof. Bezzina is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS, UK), steering committee member of the British Academy of Management's Research Methodology special interest group and holds visiting professor positions at various international institutions which include the University of Zagreb (Croatia), Wroclaw University of Economics and Business (Poland), and LM Thapar School of Management (India).
