The latest business dialogue held between the Central Bank of Malta and non-financial corporations shows that in the fourth quarter of 2024, the net share of firms reporting better business conditions weakened when compared to the previous quarter - from 15% to 9%.

In light of the recent application of Regulation (EU) 2024/886 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 March 2024, amending Regulations (EU) No 260/2012 and (EU) 2021/1230, as well as Directives 98/26/EC and (EU) 2015/2366 as regards instant credit transfers in euro, the Central Bank of Malta has been designated as a national Competent Authority under this Regulation.

The Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Mr Alexander Demarco, signed a collaboration agreement with the Heritage Parks Federation, represented by Mr Martin Galea and Mr Darren Saliba, pledging the Central Bank of Malta’s (CBM) support towards the restoration and conversion of a dilapidated British military building at the Majjistral Nature and History Park into a multi-purpose exhibition hall.
