The Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Malta participates in the IMF-World Bank constituency meeting in Varese, Italy

Central Bank of Malta Acting Governor, Mr Alexander Demarco, together with International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG) Governors and senior officials from Albania, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, and San Marino, gathered in Varese, Italy on 26 and 27 June for the IMF-WBG constituency meeting.

The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Finance of Italy and Banca d'Italia.  

The meeting was addressed by the Minister of Finance of Italy, Mr Giancarlo Giorgetti and Banca d'Italia Senior Deputy Governor, Mr Luigi Federico Signorini. Present for the meeting were also Executive Directors Mr Riccardo Ercoli and Mr Matteo Bugamelli, who represent the constituency at the IMF and WBG respectively.

The topics discussed included recent developments and future challenges for the IMF and WBG, disaster risk management and industrial policy, competitiveness and growth considerations.
