COVID-19 case at the Central Bank of Malta

On 28th July, the Bank registered one COVID-19 case. As soon as this information was reported to management at 18:46hrs, the Bank took immediate action and carried out contact tracing within the Bank to establish which employees could have potentially been in contact with the employee who had tested positive.

Furthermore, all employees working in the department concerned were instructed to telework until further notice. Other employees who had come into contact with the employee who had tested positive were also asked to telework. All these employees were asked to get tested for COVID-19.

The Bank also contracted an infection prevention control specialist to disinfect the relevant premises. The operation was completed by 21:45hrs on 28 July 2020.

The Bank reassures that all the necessary measures have been taken and will continue to be taken to ensure the well-being of all employees.
