Public Consultation

The ECB has cancelled the public hearing on the draft ECB regulation amending the regulation on payments statistics as a result of measures taken to address the COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline for submitting comments to the public consultation has been extended to 7 May 2020.

The European Central Bank (ECB) is in the process of amending Regulation (EU) No 1409/2013 of the European Central Bank of 28 November 2013 on payments statistics (ECB/2013/43). This amendment aims to enhance this statistical framework in order to take into account new payment services available in the market, related developments in European legislation and to cater for a wider range of uses of payment statistics.

A public consultation, commencing on Thursday 27 February 2020 till Thursday 7 May 2020, is being launched by the ECB to provide interested parties with the opportunity to comment on this draft ECB Regulation.

The public consultation document, including the proposed amendments to the Regulation and reporting templates, may be accessed here

During this consultation period interested parties are invited to provide any comments directly to the ECB, as indicated in the link above, by not later than Thursday 7 May 2020.
