Central Bank of Malta organises concert at St Vincent de Paul Residence

As part of its 50th Anniversary celebrations, the Central Bank of Malta organised on Wednesday 9 May 2018 a concert at St Vincent de Paul Residence. The brass section of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra played popular tunes with the participation of singer Daniel Cauchi, and took the elderly audience down memory lane.

The concert was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Malta who underlined the Bank's concern with the social and economic consequences of an ageing population. Parliamentary Secretary for Persons with Disability and Active Ageing Hon Anthony Agius Decelis, in a brief introductory address, emphasized the importance of quality of life for senior citizens. Culture is an element of active ageing.

The Central Bank of Malta supports the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra through a corporate agreement that helps the orchestra purchase musical instruments and the Orchestra's internship programme. This programme gives promising young musicians the opportunity to prepare for a career in music, and join the Malta Youth Orchestra.
