In view of the protracted impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minister for Health, in consultation with the Ministry for Finance today issued Legal Notice (LN) 15 of 2021 on ‘Moratorium on Credit Facilities in Exceptional Circumstances’, which relates to the reactivation of moratoria in Malta.

The EU Directive 2014/62/EU of 15 May 2014 on the protection of the euro and other currencies against counterfeiting by criminal law (the “Directive”) establishes minimum rules concerning the definition of criminal offences and sanctions in the area of counterfeiting of the euro and other currencies. It also introduces common provisions to strengthen the fight against those offences, to improve investigation of them, and to ensure better cooperation against counterfeiting.
