Silvio Galea is the Head of International Relations and Communications Department of the Central Bank of Malta. He is responsible for the Bank's external communications and oversees the Bank's relations with international multilateral financial institutions. Before he headed the Monetary Operations and Government Securities Department, Financial Stability Department and Corporate Strategic Department. He is a member of the Eurosystem Communications Committee (ECCO) and the Eurosystem Digital Euro Comms (Communications) Group. Silvio holds an MA in European Studies, and a BA (Hons) degree in Public Administration. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He is currently a PhD candidate with the Institute of European Studies at the University of Malta.
