The Central Bank of Malta is committed to making its website as accessible as possible to all in line with the principles set out under the Accessibility of the Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies Regulations, 2019 as the national legislation transposing the relevant European Union Directive.

  • At the moment, over 80% of the website is compliant with the relevant Regulations, with some issues, of varying degree, that were identified by the regulator during a review in October 2020.
  • There are, however, a number of issues which were identified as being non-accessible and every reasonable attempt is already being made by the Bank to rectify as many of these as possible, working closely with the regulator.
  • While it is our aim to make the website as accessible as possible, there may be some outstanding issues that will not be feasible to rectify on a website designed prior to the entry into force of the legislation, and these may eventually be considered as a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the Regulations.
