Kanan Musayev is a Senior Economist in the Macroprudential Policy, Stress Testing & Research Department at the Central Bank of Malta. In this role, he focuses on developing and calibrating quantitative risk and stress testing models to detect vulnerabilities within the financial system. Before joining the Bank, he spent ten years at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, contributing to economic analysis, research, financial stability and financial market development. His international experience also includes a secondment at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., where he worked on domestic revenue mobilization. He holds an MSc in Banking and Risk from the University of Edinburgh Business School. He regularly contributes to the Central Bank of Malta's Financial Stability Report and represents the Bank on key international task forces, including those of the ESRB and EBA.
