Governor Alexander Demarco participates in the ECB Forum on Central Banking 2026

The Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Mr Alexander Demarco, participated in the ECB Forum on Central Banking, held in Sintra, Portugal, between 29 June and 1 July 2026.

The theme of this year's Forum was "Shaping Europe's future: innovation, growth and stability".

The Forum brought together central bank governors, senior policymakers, academics, economists, and selected media representatives to exchange views on the key macroeconomic challenges facing Europe and the global economy, as well as the implications for monetary policy and financial stability.

The Governor's participation reflects the Central Bank of Malta's ongoing commitment to contributing to high-level policy discussions and maintaining close engagement with the Eurosystem and the international central banking community on matters of strategic importance.
