Central Bank of Malta proudly sponsors Nucleus 2024
The Central Bank of Malta, through its Fund, is proudly sponsoring 'Nucleus', an exhibition at the Malta Society of Arts, Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta, in view of its high-level contribution towards the Maltese artistic sector, and the participating artists' common drive towards promoting the watercolour medium amongst young upcoming artists.
'Nucleus' groups together the watercolour paintings of six seasoned and well-known Maltese artists: Jeni Caruana, Debbie Caruana Dingli, Anna Galea, Anna Grima, Tonio Mallia, and Kenneth Zammit Tabona.
On January 11, Dr Pauline Lanzon, Advisory Board member of the Central Bank of Malta Fund attended the opening event of the exhibition coordinated by Caroline Miggiani.
Artists Tonio Mallia and Kenneth Zammit Tabona both create dramatic and unexpected landscapes, whilst Debbie Caruana Dingli's watercolours are a sensitive synthesis of people in harmony with nature. Jeni Caruana's portraits confront the viewer with their meaningful looks, and Anna Galea honours nature in her unique and highly controlled style. Anna Grima's studies of local indigenous and threatened flora have been made in the spirit of enquiry and ecology as she has embraced the dual role of artist and naturalist.
'Nucleus' will remain open at Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta until 1 February, 2024. The general public can view the exhibits for free on weekdays from 9am to 7pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.
