Creditinfo Malta Limited to operate as a Credit Reference Agency
On 3 December 2021, the Commerce Department’s Trade Licencing Unit, in consultation with the Central Bank of Malta (the ‘Bank’), granted Creditinfo Malta Limited (C 30174) a five-year renewable licence to operate as a credit reference agency (CRA). The function of a CRA is primarily to issue credit scores on natural and legal persons, including credit institutions. In line with the Trading Licences Act (Cap 441) – Trading Licences Regulation, 2018 (S.L. 441.07), the CBM Act (Chapter 204 of the Laws of Malta), and CBM Directive 15, the Bank is responsible for the supervision of CRAs.
