Central Bank of Malta Went Pink
The Central Bank of Malta, through its Cultural Activities Committee, joined other organisations and individuals to raise funds and awareness for Pink October and Movember.
On 22 October, staff members were encouraged to wear a ‘touch of pink’ and on 30 October, staff members were greeted by pink and blue muffins on their arrival on the Bank’s premises, as encouragement to raise awareness and funds for the Marigold Foundation.
Central Bank of Malta management and staff raised €2,300 for this initiative, one of many undertaken by the Bank as part of its wide-ranging Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
The funds were presented by committee members to the secretary of the Marigold Foundation, Jennifer Xuereb, at Villa Francia in Lija. While thanking the Bank’s management and staff for their donations, Ms Xuereb explained that the Marigold Foundation organises national Pink October and Movember events for the benefit of a number of NGOs involved in awareness campaigns on the importance of checking oneself for breast cancer and testicular cancer – no matter one’s age.
