Governor’s meeting with Mr Frédéric Kaplan, Minister Counsellor for Economic Affairs and new Head of the French Economic Regional Service for South-East Europe

The Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Professor Edward Scicluna, was paid a courtesy visit by Mr Frédéric Kaplan, Minister Counsellor for Economic Affairs and new Head of the French Economic Regional Service for South-East Europe at the French Embassy in Rome. 

Accompanying Mr Kaplan was the Economic Counsellor and Deputy Head of the Economic Regional Service for South-East Europe, Ms Laura Torrebruno, and Ms Raphaëlla d'Aubert, Economic Attaché at the French Embassy in Malta. 

Present for the meeting – which took place on Thursday, 27 May 2021 – were the Deputy Governor Mr Alexander Demarco and the Manager of the International Relations Department Dr Kalina Koleva.

The meeting discussed the current state of the economy and the outlook for both countries in the context of policy development in the European Union.
