Central Bank of Malta Governor, Professor Edward Scicluna met with Professor Inna Steinbuka, Chair of Latvia's Fiscal Discipline Council. Professor Steinbuka was accompanied by Mr Martins Zemitis, Economic Counsellor at the Representation of the European Commission in Malta. The meeting took place on 24 April 2023 at the Central Bank of Malta.

The Fiscal Discipline Council is an independent collegial body established to monitor the compliance with the rules of the fiscal discipline.

Dr Aaron Grech, Central Bank of Malta Chief Economist and Mr John Caruana, Head Eurosystem, Monetary Policy and International Relations Department were also present for the meeting.
