Xprunara

In 2002, the Central Bank of Malta issued a gold commemorative coin, with the maritime theme “Xprunara”, forming part of the Royal Mint Precious Fine Gold Collection.

The coat of arms of Malta and the year of issue 2002 are shown on the obverse of the coin. The reverse depicts an eighteenth century sailing ship of the “Xprunara” type and was designed by Joseph Muscat MQR. This Gold Proof-Like coin was legal tender in Malta until 31 January 2008 for the value of Lm10. It was struck at the Royal Mint, in the United Kingdom.
