The human resource is treated as the most important asset of the Bank. Rewarding and investing in an organisation’s employees improves the working lives of its staff members. Depending on the Bank’s requirements, it is the Bank’s policy to recruit personnel at non-clerical, clerical and executive levels on a full-time or part-time basis. Recruitment made by the Bank may include a written assessment and an interview. New employees are provided with a well-planned orientation programme to assist them in understanding the Bank’s role, functions, structure and working environment/relationships within the ESCB and the Eurosystem.

It is the Bank’s policy to train and develop its staff to ensure professional performance and to maintain the high level of expertise required to enable the execution of the Bank’s functions and contribution towards the attainment of the Bank’s Mission and Objectives. Opportunities for development at the Bank include:

• Development Scheme – to pursue full-time post-graduate courses in universities overseas.

• Study Scheme – to pursue self-development opportunities at local and overseas learning institutions through distance learning.

• Training and Development – All employees at the Bank are given training not only upon their engagement but also periodically during their career. Such development includes both local and overseas exposure as well as professional training in various related subjects.

• Overseas Commitments – Employees at the Bank have the opportunity to represent the Bank in Committees and Working Groups of the ESCB and the Eurosystem.    


Who are we looking for?

The Central Bank of Malta recruits periodically at both the clerical and managerial level. The Bank recruits from specific degree disciplines to fill vacancies as:

• Clerks
• IT Technicians/Professionals
• Internal Auditors
• Economics Officers

Selection is usually made by a written assessment and an interview.
