Mr Victor Busuttil – Profile

Victor Busuttil was appointed as Director of the Central Bank of Malta for a period of five years with effect from 1 January 2008. He holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from the University of Malta, an M.A. in Economics from the University of New Hampshire and an M.A. in Political Science from the City University of New York.

Prior to his appointment at the Central Bank of Malta, Mr. Busuttil was a senior official of the United Nations for thirty four years, most recently as Director for Management at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). His experience covered financial and human resources management, programme budgeting, programme monitoring and evaluation, organisational reform of the economic sector of the United Nations, and external relations.
