'L'ISLE
ADAM' A handsome steamer of 841 gross tons, the
'L'Isle Adam' was completed in 1883 in Birkenhead U.K.
It is a representative
of the fleet of the Gollcher family, which occupies an important
place in Maltese Maritime History, together with Tagliaferro
and Scicluna. It was a passenger/cargo vessel between Europe,
Malta and North Africa. It was named after the first Grandmaster
of the Order of St John in Malta.
